Summer 2014 Wild Herb Week

Back by popular demand! Wild Herb Week will be happening again in 2014!

Last year, on the last day of Wild Herb Week, we asked all the kids what they would do differently if they could change one thing. Each and every kid wanted Wild Herb Week to last longer; one wanted a couple of extra days, a few wanted two weeks, and one wanted a month. After much debate, we have settled on one and a half weeks for this year, August 11th to 15th and August 18th to 20th.

Bring your children, your inner child, or someone else’s child! Come explore healing herbs all around us, waiting to be part of your health and awareness. We will learn to identify, harvest, and prepare at least 10 herbs you see every day to include in your diet and first aid kit.

We will use play, drawing, hands-on harvesting, preparing, eating, and crafting to get to know each herb personally and practically. Each family will leave with several herbal medicines and crafts, and the knowledge of how and why to make and use them. Ages 8 to adult.
